CREATING PAINTINGS FROM PHOTOGRAPHS
Corel Painter X for beginners

Learn how to transform your photographs into paintings by using and expanding your creativity to unexpected levels with Corel Painter X.

Corel Painter Master Claudia Salguero, will guide you through Painter X and as a professional fine-artist she will provide you with the artistic insight you need know about how to create a balanced
composition,how to give life to eyes in your portraits, how to add realistic lights and shadows to your subjects, how to add magic to you image with vibrant colours and more. No previous painting experience is required.

For some motivation, click on “Claudia on TV” where you will watch "CTV REGIONAL CONTACT" and "ROGERS OTTAWA LIVING". Two different TV programs produced about Claudia’s art creations using Painter X.

Now, let's talk about those two days of fun, creativity and unlimited possibilities.

You will learn how to:

-Set up the Wacom tablet and Painter X for optimum efficiency, creativity and
personal preferences.

-Install, explore, choose, control and customize brushes and art materials.
Use cloning capabilities.

-Transform your photograph into a traditional artistic medium.

-Give life to your painting by adding lights, shadows and texture through use of layers.

-Increase the richness in color and texture through use of tone, value, saturation, focus, and contour sharpness.

-Print on canvas and stretch on bars your final creation.

-Notions and tips of how to transform your painting into a unique creation adding your hand-painted brush strokes.

What to bring:

Computer: a Mac or a Windows, laptop or desktop PC. Mac OS X
or Windows XP or Vista, with as much RAM as you can afford (at least 512 MB
recommended) and at least 5 GB free hard drive space recommended. - Corel
Painter X software which you can purchase or upgrade from Corel.com (if you
don’t have it, please let me know and I will send you a trial version) – a Wacom
tablet (Intuos or Bamboo models will work) 6 x 8 inches or bigger. Please install
the latest Wacom driver which you can download from Wacom.com.

Digital photos that you'd like to transform into paintings saved as jpg, tiff, cpt or
psd Minimum 5 x 7 inches 150 dpi.

Your registration is confirmed upon receipt of payment in full.. If you have to
postpone attending a class you have already registered for, then your full class fee
can be applied as a credit towards a future class. Places will be reserved on a first
come, first serve basis. The workshop could be canceled if there are not
enough students. In that case, the whole amount will be refunded. In case you
cancel your registration 15 days prior to the workshop, you will receive the amount
paid less $50 administration fee. If the cancellation is made during the two weeks prior†the event, no money will be refund.
